Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 31, 2026

This policy explains what Muverna collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Muverna iOS app and to muverna.com.

Who this is

Muverna is operated by Juan José Islas Aparicio, an individual developer based in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico (“Muverna,” “we,” “us”). There is no separate corporate entity — you’re dealing directly with the person who built this.

If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact [email protected].

Information we collect

What you give us directly:

  • Nickname
  • Email address
  • Age range (e.g. “35-39”) — not your exact age or birthdate

That’s the full account-creation set. We don’t ask for your real name, phone number, location, or anything beyond what’s needed to create an account and confirm you meet the minimum age requirement.

What the app generates as you use it:

  • Your experiments, field notes, and reflections — the content you create inside Muverna
  • App interaction data (screens viewed, features used, session frequency) collected through Mixpanel, our analytics provider. Mixpanel never receives your name or email. It does receive: an internal Muverna user ID, your approximate location (city and country, derived automatically from your device’s IP address), and a behavioral profile built from product usage — including your age range, the goal areas and habits you’ve selected in the app, your experiment count, and whether you’ve started an experiment.
  • A push notification token, generated by Expo’s push service, so we can send you the daily reminder or reveal notifications you’ve enabled

What Apple and RevenueCat handle on our behalf:

  • Subscription status (free, trial, active, expired), purchase history, and renewal dates, managed through RevenueCat
  • Payment processing itself — card numbers, billing address, and payment method are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. RevenueCat and Muverna only receive confirmation of what tier you’re on, not how you paid for it.

Standard technical data:

  • Device type, operating system version, app version, and crash/error logs, collected automatically to keep the app working and to debug problems.

How we use this information

  • To create and maintain your account
  • To run the core product — storing your experiments and field notes, generating your Discoveries and Patterns views
  • To send the notifications you’ve opted into
  • To understand product usage in aggregate (which features get used, where people drop off) so we can improve the app
  • To process subscriptions and manage your entitlements
  • To respond if you contact support

We do not use your data to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your data to anyone, for any reason.

Who we share data with

We share data only with the service providers that make the app function, each bound by their own privacy and security commitments:

Provider What they receive Why
Supabase Account data, experiment/field note content Database and authentication infrastructure
RevenueCat Subscription status, purchase events Subscription management, synced with Apple
Mixpanel Internal Muverna user ID, approximate location (city/country from IP address), app interaction events, and a behavioral profile (age range, goal areas, habits, experiment activity) — never your name or email Product analytics
Expo Push notification token Delivering notifications
Apple (App Store / StoreKit) Payment details, subscription purchase events Payment processing — required for all iOS in-app purchases

We don’t share your data with advertisers, and we don’t share it for any purpose beyond running and improving Muverna.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Muverna or our users — but this is an exception, not a practice.

Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (available directly in the app, under Account settings), every record tied to you is purged from our database immediately — this isn’t a soft delete or a deactivation, it’s a real, permanent removal. If you signed in with Apple, deletion also revokes that sign-in token where applicable.

Mixpanel is a separate case. It doesn’t receive your name or email, but it does hold a standing profile tied to your internal ID — including your approximate location, age range, and habits/goals — and deleting your account does not currently remove that profile. If you want your Mixpanel data deleted as well, email [email protected] and we’ll remove it from Mixpanel directly.

Data security

We rely on the security infrastructure of Supabase, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, Expo, and Apple, all of which maintain their own security and compliance programs. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute protection — but we don’t store anything we don’t need, and we don’t handle payment data directly, which limits our exposure and yours.

Your rights and choices

  • Access and correction: You can view and edit your account information (nickname, email) directly in the app.
  • Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app — this isn’t a “contact support” process, it’s a real, immediate action. This removes your account and content from our database immediately. It does not automatically remove your Mixpanel analytics profile (see Data Retention above) — email [email protected] if you want that removed too, and we’ll do it by hand.
  • Notifications: You can turn push notifications on or off at any time through iOS Settings, and configure in-app reminder schedules directly in the app.
  • Data requests: If you’re in a jurisdiction that grants you specific data rights (such as the right to a copy of your data, or to restrict processing), email [email protected] and we’ll handle it directly — you don’t need a formal legal process to ask.

Children’s privacy

Muverna is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you’re between 13 and 17, you should have a parent or guardian’s permission before creating an account or subscribing — subscriptions are billed through the Apple ID holder’s payment method, so in practice this is enforced at the App Store level as well. If we learn we’ve collected data from a child under 13, we’ll delete it.

International data transfers

Muverna is operated from Mexico. Our service providers (Supabase, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, Expo, Apple) are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries. By using Muverna, you understand your data may be processed outside your country of residence.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the effective date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of Muverna after a change means you accept the update.
